Sir - Some years ago Malcolm Muggeridge drew a distinction between US and British politicians. US politicians are corrupt - they will do anything for money. British politicians, on the other hand, are not corrupt: they take the money and do nothing.
Perhaps the councillors identified by Mr Dunlop could help the Flood Tribunal in its work by indicating to which category they belong. - Yours, etc.,
