Sir, - In response to Vincent Browne's comments (Opinion, June 21st) on Travellers who are expected to live in squalor in our affluent and Christian country, and also reflecting on Mr McCreevy's seeming (?) intolerance of certain "dissenting voices" in our democratic society, I am reminded of the words of Dom Helder Camara, Archbishop of Recife, Brazil:
"When I feed the poor, they call me a saint; when I ask why the poor are hungry, they call me a Communist." - Yours, etc.,
Gerry Shiel, Merlyn Park, Dublin 4.
