Madam, - As a first-time buyer, I am appalled at the level of planning that has gone into the surroundings of my new housing estate. I speak primarily of basic necessities such as street lighting and pavements.
After two years of saving and sacrifice, having spent hundreds of thousands of euro on my new home, I have to dodge between pot-holes and on-coming traffic on my way to the railway station - in the dark! It is an outrage that property developers and county councils are allowed to sell a property without the necessary ancillary infrastructure.
Very little thought has gone into the consequences of filling fields, serviced by old country roads, with homes. - Yours, etc.,
