Sir, As an old age pensioner, approaching 90, I wish to protest at the unwarranted attack on the Minister of Social Welfare by Charlie McCreevy and Bertie Ahern for giving the old age pensioners a few pounds extra at, Christmas. What gall, when you think that a short while ago these men voted to give ministers a rise of £10,000 a year to their salaries, and £5,000 and £6,000 to TDs' One wonders if there is any limit as to how far politicians can stoop.
When you think of the millions wasted by the ministers of previous governments travelling through the world, week in and week out Some of them seem to make the super jet their second home, at the cost of £4,000 an hour. With Bertie at the helm, I think Fianna Fail will be in opposition a long time.
