Sir, - It is commendable that the Department of Social Welfare and the Irish Pensions Board are looking into the pension situation of people not employed by the Government. These people provide the monies for running the Government, and so many are neglected when they retire.
I consider that people retired on non indexed linked pensions should be taken out of the income tax net, and this benefit should be dated back ten years at least. If these people have a little capital left when they die, the Government will get its share. - Yours, etc.,
