Madam, – Thank you for putting on show the coterie of failed political entities, wafflers, hangers-on and erstwhile senators, and the financial largess with which this insolvent State bids them adieu (“Payouts of €200,000 for three ex-senators”, Home News, May 30th) No doubt but when the Cabinet comes to consider where the next financial axe is due to fall, on the body politic, (so that we all suffer equally, you know!) at least this conglomerate of public “savants”, will be able to sleep easily in their well-feathered beds. What a relief that is to me! – Yours, etc,
