Sir, - For Charles J. Haughey to be in a position of power as Taoiseach he needed the votes of many politicians in Fianna Fail. The reward for some of them was a plum job in the Cabinet. Over and over again there was no shortage of FF TDs to make him leader of the party and Taoiseach.
Now, he's like the boy who has been caught on the orchard wall with the apples, but the gang have just dumped him. Soon, some of their number will say, "Charlie Who?" Their denial of him will be almost Biblical. I support the call for a second enquiry. The first is like looking through the keyhole; now it's time to open the door. - Yours, etc., KATHRYN MULREADY, Calderwood Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.
