Sir, - I am a person in a wheelchair. Dublin is getting better for providing lower footpaths to make it easier for people like me to travel on, but sometimes cars and lorries are parked either on footpaths or in front of an accessible footpath. This gives me no choice but to travel on the road. I value life, I don't want to die yet or want to damage other people's lives from my actions.
One day I was crossing the road at the traffic lights here in Sandymount, there was a long lorry parked at the opposite side. Thank God, I wasn't blind, I would have got a terrible bang if I went straight into it. People are asleep when they are parking vehicles. They mightn't know that they are making travelling awkward for other people. I hope by reading this letter people begin to look before they are parking cars. - Yours, etc.,
