Sir, - I write to alert your readers to an additional risk they may run through shopping at Tesco. On my last two purchases of weighed items, at the Merrion and Stillorgan stores respectively, I was overcharged by 10 per cent, through the scales at the checkout weighing heavy. This is particularly insidious as Tesco has
phased out self-weighing and such overcharging is of a type that customers are unlikely to detect. Often customers will not check weighed items before the checkout, and if not using an electronic scales the effort of multiplying multiple weights by multiple prices - and remembering the answers - is beyond most of us. - Yours, etc.,
