Madam, - Michael O'Regan's article about politics in Clare (Nov 1st) was accompanied by a map showing locations of the various towns in the county.
For some strange reason, Shannon, which has the second-highest population in Clare, was omitted.
The current population of Shannon is 12,000, while Newmarket on Fergus, our nearest neighbour, has a population of about 1,000, but does appear on the map.
Shannon is a new town, but has been in Clare, steadily growing in population, since 1960.
