A chara, – I walk on Rossbeigh beach as often as I can, and I spend much of the time avoiding loose “playful” dogs and/or their “poo” (PJ Murphy, October 10th). People who do not own dogs surely have the right to take a walk without being accosted by either. Many people are afraid of dogs, large and small, and should be accorded the courtesy that owners would keep their pets under control. Only once ever have I seen a scooper being used.
The farmer must have a field for his cow – the pet owner should make similar arrangements. – Yours, etc,
