Madam, - Thank you for your continued generally careful and responsible coverage of the Arms Crisis of 1970 and issues arising. It is, however, wrong of Vincent Browne ( Opinion, January 8th) to state that Prime Time "suggested" that Mr Desmond O'Malley was involved in doctoring the Book of Evidence for the 1970s Arms Trial. If Mr Browne requires a copy of the programme to refresh his memory, I would be happy to furnish it to him.
In addition, your news report "Decision on O'Malley apology" (January 6th), contains a similarly misleading and rather serious misstatement in regard to Prime Time. Please note in this regard that at no point has Prime Time "claimed" that Mr Desmond O'Malley or any of his officials "tampered with a crucial witness statement", as that report suggests. - Yours, etc.,
