Sir, - It has now become abundantly clear that zero tolerance, much trumpeted by the soldiers of destiny before the last election, referred not, as first thought, to crime but rather to the wishes of the general populace.
And now BAFF (Blatant Arrogance of Fianna Fail) has infected their junior partners with the pathetic bleatings of our Tanaiste bearing remarkable resemblance to the Qui? Moi? emanations of those who have gone before - Lenihan, Haughey, et al - as she struggles, unsuccessfully, to justify her collaboration in the O'Flaherty case.
Whilst reading your comprehensive editorials and reports on the matter, a remark made by one of your correspondents about two years ago springs to mind, as true today as it was then: "You can take the woman out of Fianna Fail, but you can't take Fianna Fail out of the woman."
