Sir, - I am writing in praise of your editorial "The Nursing Profession" (November 28th). It shows great insight into what has happened in nursing. Yes, a revolution has taken place and this job has been transformed.
No longer the handmaidens of the medical profession, we work in conjunction with them, and our input into patient care, education and recovery is equally important.
We want, and deserve, more recognition for our changed role and increased responsibility. Now we wait on the Government to recognise this change in status, and to offer remuneration appropriate to the job. - Yours, etc.,
