Sir, - I feel outraged by recent advertisements in the media trashing the nurses for going on strike.
Who closed wards in hospitals all round the country?
Who closed entire hospitals?
Who cut funding so that hospitals are perennially understaffed?
Who bought hugely expensive diagnostic equipment and let it lie idle for lack of trained operators?
We are rich, the Exchequer is bursting with cash, but our politicians are greedy and corrupt. They remember to feather their own nests. They forget about the many decades of over-stressed and underpaid work that nurses have done and are doing for us all. Who else goes on strike and continues to work without pay?
