Sir, - Recent media coverage of the nurses' dispute displays slick Government propaganda. Statements such as "hospital charge's will have to be increased"
and Mr de Rossa's claim that child-care spending may have to be reduced, cut no ice with hardworking nurses.
The Government is well aware that we are all PAYE workers mostly in the higher-income-tax bracket. This means that for every £1 increase we receive, the Government claws back 48p.
The Labour Court recommendations needs close scrutiny by all nurses. There are serious issues to be considered. We do not need the "guilt trap" injection (pardon the pun) from the Government, because we are predominantly women.
