Sir, - A report in your edition of July 18th on visas for families of refugees refers to people as "non-nationals". This seems to allude to aliens from another planet.
As most refugees and asylum seekers in this country are entitled to passports from their countries of origin surely to respect the dignity of these people, you should endeavour to use the appropriate title; "non-Irish nationals".
I have also made this point with the National Union of Journalists, as your staff are not alone in this. - Yours, etc.
