Sir, - I have admired your rugby correspondent, Edmund van Esbeck, for years, but never so much as for his beautiful tribute to Noel Henderson (August 28th). A nostalgic reminder and obituary of a great player and wonderful person but also both of an era in rugby and a game now gone forever.
Mr van Esbeck's final remark: "His place among the great figures of Irish Rugby is assured," is most appropriate and fitting. The same applies to E. van E. himself. - Yours, etc.,
