Madam, – Sarah Moore’s complaint (February 19th) that she had to emigrate to London in order to get a job, is no news to me, now in my retirement years. Who cares where one gets a job, whether on one side of the Irish Sea or the other – we have all done “the travel” in our day.
As Tennyson put it, “Yet all experience is an arch wherethrough /Gleams that untravelled world, whose margin fades/ For ever and for ever when I move . . .”
Come on Ms Moore, the “wake-up” call is for you, not for the Government; and it is so nice that one’s relatives are always glad to see one back. – Yours, etc,
