Sir, - In his profile of Mr Joe Murray of Murray Consultants (February 10th), Mr John McManus referred to Dunnes Stores purchase of a 9.1 per cent stake in Fitzwilton last year. Mr McManus reported that Mr Murray's partner, Mr Jim Milton, had been brought in "over the head" of Wilson Hartnell Public Relations (WHPR) to act on behalf of Fitzwilton. This is incorrect. WHPR advised Fitzwilton and was responsible for all media communications during that period. We continue to act for the company. Mr Milton was involved solely in his long term capacity as personal advisor to Dr Tony O'Reilly, Fitzwilton's chairman. - Yours, etc.,
Director,
Wilson Hartnell Public

John McManus rites:
At the time of the Dunnes Stores investment Dr O'Reilly and his supporters had 45 per cent of Fitzwilton's shares. The profile did not say that Mr Milton acted on behalf of Fitzwilton, but referred to the fact that it was Mr Milton who briefed business journalists in this newspaper about Dr O'Reilly's views and actions. It was Dr O'Reilly's actions that determined the fate of Fitzwilton.
