Sir, - As a motorist who travels the full length of the M50 motorway twice a day I regularly pass a sign on entering the M50 which gives a list of who and what is not permitted to travel on a motorway.
Today I have seen five "L" drivers, a struggling moped (50cc), three pedestrians (waiting for a lift in the hard shoulder), and two vans parked in the hard shoulder (without drivers!).
