Sir, There is a moral obligation on elected representatives not to put their constituents in unnecessary danger. At this time of the year especially, the acute shortage of taxi is necessitating people to have to walk home, sometimes alone, at the early hours of the morning. This is putting people, especially women, at risk which is simply not justifiable.
I welcome the comments by, city councillors who support the issuing of new plates and I call upon those who are continuously resisting to think about the potential consequences of their continued pandering to the taxi drivers. Yours etc., 92 Avoca Park, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.
