Sir, - Europe has now become an open area where all citizens should be able to move freely as a basic right of citizenship. According to the Treaty on the EC community action should focus on mobility in the areas of education, training and research.
The recent launch of the Green Paper Education Training Research: The Obstacles to Transnational Mobility, gives us an opportunity to link with people who are involved in education, training and research.
As a member of the Training and Education Commission of the EU Committee of the Regions in Brussels, I am preparing an opinion as rapporteur on this paper. I am interested in feedback from trainees, students and researchers, also training and educational institutions with suggestions for improving citizens mobility - how you feel the exchange visits placements (Socrates or Leonardo) or general mobility of citizens could be made more user friendly e.g. social protection, languages and support networks.
