Sir, - As a mobile-phone user it gives me great pleasure to sit each day commuting in and out of London in my reserved seat on a mobile-free coach with my mobile switched off. Midland Mainline have been offering the service since Christmas and it is fantastic not to put up with the "unacceptable unconscious shouting competition" that normally goes on.
It's bad enough to endure delays, but even worse listening to other passengers telling somebody else (probably on another mobile somewhere), what they would do to solve the problem.
Iarnrod Eireann should switch on to the fact that some people want to switch off to mobile phones. - Yours, etc.,
C.J. Hughes, Kettering, Northamptonshire.
