Sir, - I first became aware of Handel's Messiah in the mid-1970s by attending a performance by Our Lady's Choral Society in the National Stadium. Since then there must have been hundreds of performances of the work in this city. However, I have never seen any to receive the extensive coverage given to Messiah XXI in your paper on Monday - a front-page photograph and a full page report inside. Well done, Frank!
Incidentally, the orchestra played the Presidential Salute and not the National Anthem when Her Excellency entered. At least they got that right. Credit where credit is due. Your Eurovision critic obviously doesn't know the difference.
