Madam, - I was delighted to read Hugh Oram's Irishman's Diary of September 29th, which evoked memories of St Bartholomew's Church on Clyde Road in Ballsbridge.
He recalled various clergymen who at one time or other presided over this fine church. Alas, he omitted Canon Simpson. Not only was he important in his own right, but just across the road in Herbert Lane, his son Alan produced The Rose Tattoo in 1957.
