Sir, - I read with interest Patsy McGarry's article on Maynooth in the "By pass Towns series (July 16th). Maynooth is certainly enjoying better health since its by pass, but potential visitors might note that the best access to the town is by leaving the M4 at what is termed the "Straffan Interchange" on your map, and not at Lucan as suggested.
The "Where to Stay" section overlooks the biggest concentration of summer accommodation in the county - St Patrick's College. There are 400 rooms available from June to September, 240 of them in self catering apartments from £14.00 a room per night, or £56.00 for a five bedroom apartment. Top quality ensuite rooms, recently refurbished, are also available year round in Stoyte House, where the college was founded, from £35.00 to £90.00 a night B & B.
Trusting this will help to complete the picture for your readers. - Yours, etc.,
Manager.
