Sir, - As we try to take in the damage done to the heart and mind of Ireland at Omagh, and see the damage done to life and limb, body and mind of so many of us, can we recall the fierce and final damage of Good Friday endured at Calvary? For Christians believe God is damaged but that damage is redemptive. The Mass eucharistically re-enacts that redemptive damage, and it is to there that I, as a priest working with a community of believers, bring the old and continuing damage of Irish history. For we need divine light, mercy and healing to fall on us. - Yours, etc., Pat Moore c.c.,
Listowel,
Co Kerry.
