Madam, – For the record, there was more than one type of Irishman involved in the 1916 uprising. For example, my father was back in Dublin on leave from the Royal Flying Corps on the Western Front and he joined a commando camped on the playing fields in TCD in case the rebellion spilled into there. Very fortunately it did not, so thankfully he did not have to become involved in conflict with any of his fellow-countrymen. – Yours, etc,
