Sir, - I refer to the article on the Dun Laoghaire Marina, which appeared on August 19th, in which I was quoted as describing the plan as "very nebulous". We do not see the marina plan as nebulous, but rather are concerned at the lack of a concrete traffic management proposal which must accompany such a plan.
We are not opposed to a marina in Dun Laoghaire, but are concerned at any expansion of harbour activity while the traffic management plan for Dun Laoghaire has still not been published by the County Council. The Harbour Board has been as forthcoming as possible with us on its plans, but cannot answer all our concerns without the larger question of traffic being addressed. This is the responsibility of the County Council. I hope this clarifies the matter. Yours, etc.,
