Madam, – The commendable efforts of Aris Venetikidis to make visual sense of Dublin’s puzzling transport networks by means of a map integrating all modes (“Capital idea imagines new way forward”, August 30th) require only minor cosmetic refinement. This is in relation to the literary and historical allusions used in naming the proposed bus rapid transit lines.

In order to emphasise the high-speed transportation aspirations of the project, why not make a declaration of intent by replacing “Gulliver” with “Swift”? Should the reality of unreliable service levels eventually prove this too optimistic a move, an accurate balance could be struck by adapting the name of the “Beckett” route to “Godot”. There is absolutely no urgency with this latter change. – Yours, etc,
