Madam, - Like most sports fans I know, I was disappointed but not entirely surprised by Tom Humphries's Locker Room piece (May 29th). He does after all have "form" in his criticism of rugby in particular. The theme is continued by Austin Stack (June 1st).
To both contributors I simply say: please travel during the coming rugby season to a match in Thomond or Musgrave Park. Then you will understand. Here's to a summer of sporting highlights in all codes and at all levels. - Yours, etc,
