Sir, - I note with considerable regret the heading "Loyalist Murders in the North" (January 29th) accompanied by two letters, one of which referred to killings carried out both by loyalists and by republicans over the past five weeks. That your heading should omit any reference to the attacks carried out by republicans, including the ruthless and calculated slaying of Billy Wright in the Maze last month, is a most unwelcome development.
While many in the British Isles are seeking a resolution to the Northern problem through understanding and inclusion, you seem to be taking the side of the minority community in the North. This can only serve to exclude those whom many would consider equally entitled to a safe and secure life on the section of this island which they call "home".
Perhaps The Irish Times has "gone native". - Yours, etc., Adrian O'Brien,
Blackrock, Co Dublin.
