Madam, - How can Airfield be losing so much money? Arthur Beesley's article (May 14th) beggars belief.
The restaurant at Airfield does a very good trade at prices which are not minimal. Room hire for a function or meeting is a lucrative source of revenue and rooms are always heavily booked.
Cultural activities are well supported as is the shop. The farm is breaking even.
No doubt the invaluable educational programmes and the gardens do cost money, but €800,000 per annum? - Yours etc,
