Sir, – Frank McNally supports calling the city on the Foyle “Derry/Londonderry” because of the pleasant trochaic rhythm (May 24th). To my mind, the name in that form is morose and downbeat. I have long held the opinion that “Londonderry/Derry” is preferable, giving a more positive and lighthearted impression. A “tra-la” effect might describe it. – Yours, etc,
