Sir, - Anne O'Leary (letters, October 1st) asks why it matters whether or not Diarmuid O'Neill was armed when he was killed, given the number of unarmed victims of the IRA. It matters because if the British police descend to the level of the terrorists, there would be no moral difference between the RUC and the IRA, and no reason for nationalists to support the former.
