LITTER CRISIS

Sir, - I refer to a letter from Mr Aodh O'Conchubhair (September 23rd) in which the blame for Ireland's litter problem is placed on such inanimate objects as plastic bags and milk cartons. Using this logic, one would have to assume that automobiles are responsible for Ireland's illegal parking problem.

Let us place the blame and responsibility squarely where they belong: PEOPLE cause litter, and only people can prevent it.
