Sir, - As I was one of the "middle-aged to elderly" at this year's Listowel Writers' Week, I would thoroughly agree with Rosita Boland's comments (Arts, June 6th) on the average age of the workshop participants. Regrettably, I admit it was my first visit to this excellent festival but I was rather surprised to see so few young people in attendance. The Gerry Stembridge screen-writing workshop alone was worth the journey to North Kerry.
However, as a regular reader of your excellent paper, I was also surprised to discover how little advance publicity is given to this event by our national papers! Perhaps your young readers don't know enough about it? -Yours, etc.,
