Madam, – If the prostitution business is becoming more dangerous, as Kathy Sheridan suggests (Life & Culture, August 30th), then surely the obvious point, absent from her piece, is that the women involved should stop doing it. Instead, as is the manner of such analysis, it seems that, in some vague way, it is once again “society” which is to blame for the problem as opposed to those who are facilitating the trade and breaking the law. – Yours, etc,
