Sir, - Over the past two years motorists in south Co Dublin have become used to the idea of Leopardstown Road being one-way as the county council carried out seemingly interminable repairs/upgrading/road widening/ wall building (tick as applicable). After this period of time it is absolutely unforgivable and unacceptable that those responsible did not warn motorists that as and from Monday last July 20th, the road would revert to two-way traffic. Some people discovered this only by accident when they were confronted by the unfamiliar sight of a car approaching them on what had been the wrong side of this thoroughfare for two years. If those responsible are serious about trying to reduce accidents on our roads and accepting their obligations to the community, they really must do a lot better. - Yours, etc.,Lucy McFarlane,Newtown Park Avenue,Blackrock,Co Dublin.
