Madam, – Following reports on talks between unions and Government representatives that “all sides were prepared to work through the night”, I was reminded of the many late nights and “last ditch” efforts we have witnessed over the past few decades.
Why is it that talks between political parties, trade unions and government representatives must always run into the night? Might I suggest a morning rather than lunchtime start could alleviate the need for such nocturnal nonsense, or would that simply destroy the dramatic finales to these pantomimes? – Yours, etc,
