Sir, - My culture is attacked from all angles. It's a disgrace that Kevin Myers can write such a story in the paper (An Irishman's Diary, July 30th). For a man of education, he did his story in reverse. If he was so anxious to write an article about Travellers, why didn't he come talk to some Travellers to see what we're really going through?
I am taking a stand to fight for my culture, because today Travellers have no rights. If Travellers had any rights Kevin Myers wouldn't be allowed to write an article like that in the paper. If he had any principles as a settled person, he would apologise to Travellers for his part in making racism against Travellers worse, and making people more hateful against us. Thanks be to God I'm not the type to judge all the settled community by him. - Yours, etc.,
