Sir, - In 1937, before Jack Lynch was ever picked for Cork, my father, "Pato" (P.D.) Mehigan, Gaelic Games Correspondent of The Irish Times, wrote:
"Playing centre-half-back for the Civil Service was a handsome young man from Blackpool, one John Lynch. If Cork have 15 better hurlers they must be invincible. He will go far." - Yours, etc.,
Patrick J. Mehigan, Shrewsbury Park, Dublin 4.
