Madam, - I can remain silent no longer: our new Spire is a thing of beauty.
It may have arrived for all the wrong reasons, been poorly planned, undemocratically vetted (though moaning letters to the Minister are surely not the best measure of democracy) and in these post-Tiger times it is expensive - but somehow it works.
It is not the safe option, it may not be an 18th-century gentleman in tights, but I feel certain that it will find a permanent place in the hearts of the cynical Dubs soon enough - Yours, etc.,
