Sir, - This morning (August 28th) the road from Howth to Sutton for at least 100 yards was festooned with the rubbish of many households. This had been placed overnight on the pavement outside the houses in plastic sacks and paper bags.
Why is it not compulsory for Dubliners (as it is, for example, for residents in Kerry) to ensure that their rubbish is in dog proof containers when placed on the public road? Yours, etc.,
