Sir, - I agree wholeheartedly with Frank McDonald's article. (February 12th) regarding the rezoning of Dublin's hinterland. However the law of supply and demand dictates this crazy sprawl. Unless and until the Government removes the financial incentive for the purchase of new houses, the trend will continue.
A grant of £3,000, together with an exemption from stamp duty, is an attractive bonus for any first-time buyer.
