Sir, - In your feature "The Price of Success" (The Irish Times, September 7th), Mr Bernard Allen TD is reported as saying that "the Celtic Tiger is not raising all boats". Surely the poor, overworked animal is too busy trying to climb the ladder to stay in the rat race, without toppling the feel-good hype that's riding on its back, to have time for such nautical pursuits. After all, if Mr Lemass's rising tide never had any cubs to suckle, why should the Celtic Tiger be raising anyone's boats? - Yours, etc., Sean Guerin,
Liffey Street West, Dublin 7.
