Sir, - Whatever happened to the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness? I notice the Guinness Group, which is doing well on the prosperity side, seems to have no concept of fairness. Surely the shareholders don't expect us to believe that the only way for them to survive is to axe the Dundalk work force.
In fairness, it's about time that the Irish Congress of Trade Unions called for a one-day boycott of Guinness products. This might have the effect of letting Guinness see that the prosperity side of the equation is dependent on the fairness side. - Yours, etc,
