Madam, - I would like to register my appreciation of the wonderful work of the religious for the marginalised - very often on a shoestring budget.
It is considered fashionable nowadays to claim to be the voice of the voiceless but, when few wanted to hear about or know about the needy, the religious quietly came to their rescue sharing with them their meagre means.
I salute the self-sacrificing devotion of those heroic Irish men and women and I regret the unfair criticism of the many because of the faults of a few.- Yours, etc.,
