Omitted was the fact that Gerrit was a lifelong naturalist, a committed and talented wildlife film-maker. For almost 30 years he filmed, edited, animated and did everything else necessary to produce his films. Who has not heard of To the Waters and the Wild, besides Amuigh Faoin Speir. If Gerrit had at first not introduced Mr de Buitlear to all the skills necessary to make film, he would not have reached the excellent standard he has now.
Maybe I should have shrugged this whole thing off with the annoying expression, "Such is life-" I feel like saying: "Such is death!" But that is too sad for myself, my family and the remembrance of Gerrit. - Yours, etc.,
